We are extremely fortunate to have a violinist of quite such international standing as Rachel Podger living in our area, whose playing exudes so much vitality and fun. We are equally privileged to have the opportunity to hear her and her friends, both from Wales and other parts of the world, playing to us in such informal, friendly and accessible surroundings, with young players from the community taking part in the final concert.

It is a wonderful opportunity for all of us in this area to be able to become involved in the start of what we hope will become a major festival.

We are starting up a Friends & Patrons scheme for the Festival.  The benefits of being a Friend would include advance notice of both the Festival programme and other related concerts taking place locally during the year.  We are also planning an annual event for Friends, probably to take place in early summer, giving to those who come the opportunity to meet some of the musicians involved.  A newsletter will give these details in due course.

If you would like to become either a Friend of the Brecon Baroque Festival, or to give additional support to the Festival by becoming a Patron, we would be glad if you could e-mail Richard and Alison Crockett at crockettra@yahoo.co.uk and request an application form.

Friends/Patrons of the Brecon Baroque Festival give vital help to the running of the Festival, for which we are deeply grateful.
